Bihar Government Transfers 83 Officers in Major Administrative and Police Reshuffle

Patna: The Bihar government has transferred a total of 83 officers in a major late-night administrative and police reshuffle, with 56 officers of the Bihar Administrative Service and 27 officers of the Bihar Police Service getting new assignments.

The General Administration Department issued a notification late on Saturday transferring 56 Bihar Administrative Service officers, while the Home Department issued a separate notification transferring 27 Bihar Police Service officers.

Several officers have been assigned new responsibilities in key departments and districts following the reshuffle.

56 Bihar Administrative Service Officers Transferred

According to the General Administration Department notification, most of the transferred Bihar Administrative Service officers were awaiting posting.

Among the new appointments, Rakesh Kumar has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Road Construction Department, Manish Kumar as Deputy Secretary in the General Administration Department and Abhinav Kumar as Deputy Secretary in the Youth, Employment and Skill Development Department.

Anil Kumar has been appointed Officer on Special Duty in the Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department, while Abhishek Kumar has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Urban Development and Housing Department.

Vandana Sinha has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Art and Culture Department, Suvir Ranjan as Deputy Secretary in the Water Resources Department and Avinash Kumar as Deputy Secretary in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.

Several officers have also been given important district-level responsibilities.

Neeraj Kumar has been appointed Settlement Officer of Sheikhpura, Prabhat Kumar of Munger and Shankar Sharan Ommi of Purnia. Sandeep Kumar has been appointed Settlement Officer of Jehanabad.

Ritu Rani has been appointed Senior Deputy Collector of Gopalganj, Amit Vikram Baina of Rohtas, Nikhil Kumar of Saharsa and Nidhi Raj of West Champaran.

Santosh Kumar has been appointed Sub-Divisional Officer in Gopalganj, while Pooja Kumari has been appointed Sub-Divisional Officer of Rosera in Samastipur.

27 Bihar Police Service Officers Get New Posts

The Home Department has also transferred 27 officers of the Bihar Police Service.

According to the notification, Son Kumar Rai has been appointed Superintendent of Police (Administration) of Patna.

Umeshwar Choudhary has been appointed Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Phulwari Sharif, while Premchand Singh has been appointed Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Chapra Sadar.

Polast Kumar has been appointed Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Mahua in Vaishali, Sushil Kumar as Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Ara Sadar and Prashant Kumar as Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Begusarai Sadar.

Gulshan Kumar has been appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police in Rail Gaya.

The list also includes Rajesh Kumar as Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Hathua, Gopalganj; Ajit Pratap Singh Chauhan as Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Dhamdhaha, Purnia; Amarkant as Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Manjhaul, Begusarai; and Satish Suman as Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Samastipur Sadar.

Pankaj Kumar Mishra has been appointed Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Motihari Sadar, Gorakh Ram of Dumraon, Anand Mohan Gupta of Siwan Sadar, Nishikant Bharti of Simri Bakhtiyarpur in Saharsa and Chandra Bhushan of Daudnagar in Aurangabad.

Officers from the 2024 and 2025 batches are also included in the police transfer list. Abhinav Kumar has been given responsibility for Wazirganj in Gaya, Pankaj Kumar Singh for Triveniganj in Supaul, Pawan Kumar for Birpur in Supaul and Pawan Kumar Singh for Udakishunganj in Madhepura.

The extensive reshuffle comes as the Bihar government seeks to strengthen the functioning of various departments and districts and improve administrative and policing efficiency in the coming days.
