Bihar Hostel Horror: Guard Held in Minor’s Rape, Murder

Jehanabad (Bihar): In a deeply disturbing case, a canteen guard has been arrested for the alleged rape and murder of a minor student at a private hostel in Bihar’s Jehanabad district, sending shockwaves across the region.

According to police officials, the accused was taken into custody after initial investigation and questioning. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the crime and claimed that he committed the act to “defame the institution,” a statement that has raised further questions about the motive behind the brutal incident.

The crime came to light after the minor’s body was discovered inside the hostel premises. Police said the victim was sexually assaulted before being murdered. The body was later sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain further details.

Following the incident, tension gripped the area as locals staged protests, demanding strict action against those responsible and accountability from hostel authorities. Police teams were deployed to maintain law and order.

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections related to rape and murder, along with provisions of the POCSO Act. Authorities are also examining the role of hostel management and staff to determine if there was any negligence or lapse in security.
