Khan Sir, the founder of Global Studies, has filed a bail petition in the Patna Civil Court. His lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahuar, stated that there is no possibility of Khan Sir surrendering; however, he may need to secure bail.
“The firing did not occur because of my client. The police have recorded whatever they pleased in the FIR. Khan Sir never made a statement like ‘open fire, and I will handle the consequences.’ We are filing a bail petition; now, let us see what decision the judge delivers. Khan Sir does not need to appear in court; he is not present there.”
A case has been registered against the teacher for attempted murder and under the Arms Act. Five Patna Police vehicles visited Khan Sir’s coaching center at various times throughout the night, yet they failed to arrest him even after 24 hours. Students also remained seated outside the coaching center all night long.
Students received a message that Khan Sir would hold a class today
Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, students associated with Khan Sir’s coaching center received a message stating that he would conduct a class that day—specifically between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Although he did not conduct the class, he did appear to surrender. The Patna Police have once again appealed to students not to be misled by coaching center operators and to assist the police in maintaining law and order, emphasizing that the police are acting impartially.
Allegation against Khan Sir for ordering gunfire
The complaint filed at the police station alleges that the two security guards opened fire with the intent to spread fear and panic among the public and to brandish weapons openly. Both bodyguards confessed that they fired at Khan Sir’s behest. They stated clearly that an agitated mob was brutally beating a security guard outside the coaching center, and other anti-social elements had begun tearing down banners and posters. Following the commotion, they emerged alongside Khan Sir. Upon witnessing the chaos, Khan Sir reportedly said, “What are you looking at? Open fire immediately; I will deal with the consequences.” Acting on this order, they each fired two rounds.
