Two youths killed in Lakhisarai accident

The Lakhisarai accident occurred around 4 am on NH-80 near Adupura, under the Suryagarha police station area. The victims were travelling towards their eatery in Rampur village when a pickup van allegedly struck their motorcycle from behind.

The collision was so severe that both riders were thrown off the motorcycle and died at the spot.

The deceased were identified as Ashok Kumar, 17, son of Rupesh Singh and a resident of Akbarpur village in Begusarai district, and Rajan Kumar, 20, son of Ravindra Singh alias Madhu, who lived in Jagdishpur village in Lakhisarai’s Suryagarha area.

Rajan was the nephew of Baleshwar Singh, deputy chairperson of the Suryagarha Municipal Council.

After receiving information about the accident, a police team from Suryagarha police station reached the spot and took custody of the bodies. They were later sent to Sadar Hospital in Lakhisarai for post-mortem examinations.

The accident has left the victims’ families devastated. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision and taking further legal action.

One killed, seven injured as Scorpio hits group in Patna

In the second incident, a person was killed and seven others were injured after a speeding Scorpio allegedly rammed into a group of people on Atal Path in Patna around 3 am on Monday.

The accident took place under the jurisdiction of Patliputra police station. Preliminary reports suggest that the vehicle struck people over a stretch of around 200 metres before overturning.

Most of those injured were reportedly around 15 years old and were on their way to attend a fair.

According to eyewitnesses, the Scorpio was moving at high speed when the driver allegedly lost control. The vehicle continued for some distance after hitting the victims before overturning.

The injured were taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Those identified among them include Ranveer Kumar, Mohit Kumar, Deepak, Piyush and Amarjit.

Initial reports differed on the number of people injured. Bihar minister Ram Kripal Yadav later said seven people had been injured and confirmed that one person had died.

The minister said police were searching for those who allegedly fled the scene and assured that strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible.

There were also claims that the Scorpio belonged to a political party leader. However, the vehicle’s ownership and the circumstances of the crash have yet to be officially verified.

Police are investigating how the driver allegedly lost control and whether anyone fled the scene after the accident.

Both incidents highlight the risks posed by speeding vehicles on Bihar’s roads. Further details are awaited as the investigations continue.
