SAD Leader Majithia Slams Punjab Officers for Joining AAP Rally, Questions Impartiality

Chandigarh: Former Punjab minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has raised serious concerns about the neutrality of Punjab’s administrative system after acting DGP Gaurav Yadav and Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha appeared on the stage of an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) political rally.

Allegations of Political Bias Among Top Officers

Majithia took to social media to question the conduct of senior officers participating in a political event, stating that such actions violate official service rules. He argued that when high-ranking officials openly associate with the ruling party, it erodes public confidence in the administration’s fairness.

Majithia’s Appeal: Have Officers Forgotten Their Duties?

He questioned whether the officers have forgotten the rules meant to keep the administration impartial and accused them of prioritizing job security over their constitutional duties. Majithia warned that visible political bias by officers would undermine public faith in justice and governance.

Demand for Accountability from Punjab Government

Majithia demanded explanations from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, challenging them on whether their promises of change and fair governance to Punjabis were genuine. He expressed that the people of Punjab are losing patience with the current government and its administration.

Warning: Administrative Impartiality Essential for Democracy

Highlighting the broader implications, Majithia cautioned that the erosion of impartial administration weakens democratic institutions and breaks the trust between the public and the government. He emphasized that without fair and unbiased governance, democracy itself could be at risk.
