Bill Gates Visits RTGS Centre at Andhra Secretariat, Reviews Tech-Driven Governance

Amaravati: Bill Gates, Chairman, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, visited the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) Center at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat on Monday and observed the use of technology in governance.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Shows the Workings of Real Time Governance

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu explained how real-time governance is being used to deliver faster services to citizens and the results it is achieving.

Bill Gates learned about the functioning and progress of the Data Lake, Aware 2.0, WhatsApp Governance, Sanjivani Project, and Amaravati projects.

He also viewed presentations on the display wall at the RTGS, where the Chief Minister explained that all government departments are interconnected through the Data Lake.

Discussion on Blockchain, GST, and Digital Health Records

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Bill Gates praised efforts to simplify citizen services through Data Lake and WhatsApp Governance.

The Chief Minister stated that real-time information is being collected through Aware 2.0, based on which quick decisions are being made.

Regarding the security of property records, officials stated that land records are being secured using blockchain technology and that systems like QR codes have been implemented to ensure transparency.

Bill Gates praised the tax collection system, calling it “amazing,” to which the Chief Minister replied that the GST system has significantly increased tax collection in the country.

Focus on AI-based health services and Amaravati development

Bill Gates also inquired about the progress of the Sanjeevani project, being run in collaboration with the Foundation in Chittoor district, and asked how records of tests such as blood pressure and diabetes are being maintained.

Officials stated that lifestyle and dietary advice is being provided to patients based on digital health records.

The Chief Minister stated that there are plans to expand the use of AI to improve public healthcare. Praising this effort, Bill Gates called it “great” and said that the availability of diagnostic services at a lower cost will benefit the poor.

Bill Gates also inquired about the progress of ongoing construction work in the state capital, Amaravati, and praised the 30 percent green and blue plan.

Earlier, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and ministers welcomed Bill Gates and his delegation upon their arrival at the Secretariat.
