In Hamirgarh of Bhilwara, a tempo traveler collided with the trailer ahead. In the accident, a businessman from Ajmer died. More than 12 of his friends were injured in the accident. At the time of the accident, everyone in the traveler was dancing.
It was the businessman’s birthday on Thursday. He was returning to Ajmer with his friends after visiting Sanwaliya Seth (Chittorgarh). The accident occurred around 8:30 PM on the Chittorgarh-Ajmer National Highway near Swaroopganj.
Hamirgarh Police Station in-charge Sunil Kumar Beda stated that Jai Prakash Varlani (61) died in the accident. There were more than 23 people in the traveler. 12 people were injured in the accident.
It is suspected that the traveler driver tried to overtake the trailer moving ahead. During the overtaking, balance was lost and the traveler went straight into the back of the trailer.
Nearby villagers immediately rescued the injured and took them to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara by ambulance.
Friend said – everyone was dancing at the time of the accident
Ramesh Chelani, a councillor from Ajmer who was injured in the incident, said – All of us friends left Ajmer around 9 a.m. on Thursday (April 30) and visited Awari Mata in Chittorgarh district.
After that, we reached Sanwariya Seth Temple, where we had darshan and ate food. Around 6 p.m., everyone started back to Ajmer. All friends were singing and dancing in the traveler while coming.
A few minutes before the accident, the song ‘Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana, Yahan Kal Kya Ho Kisne Jana’ was playing in the vehicle. Everyone was very happy. Then suddenly, the vehicle crashed.
All the injured were sent home late at night
According to the information, Prakash Varlani, Lalit Varlani, and Subhash Agrawal were admitted when their condition was serious in the accident. The other injured sustained minor injuries. All were sent home from Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara late at night.
