BJP accuses CM Revanth Reddy of insulting Hindus, calls for protest

Telangana: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a protest on Wednesday, December 3, accusing Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of insulting Hindu religion and deities. The controversy stems from comments made by the CM during a Congress executive meeting, where he highlighted the diversity within the party and drew an analogy with Hinduism.

    Controversial Remarks by the CM

During his address, Revanth Reddy referred to the large number of Hindu deities to illustrate diversity and differing beliefs within the Congress party. He compared the party’s varied leadership to the multiple gods worshipped by Hindus, emphasizing that the party brings together people with different backgrounds and beliefs.

    BJP Alleges Insult to Hinduism

The BJP, however, claimed that the CM’s remarks were disrespectful toward Hindu gods and traditions. Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, accused Congress of harboring deep-seated hostility toward Hindus and called for the Hindu community to unite against what he described as repeated humiliation by the party.

Call for Protest and Political Repercussions

State BJP president N Ramchander Rao urged party cadres and members of the Hindu community to participate in the protest, asserting that Congress has a history of mocking Hinduism and its traditions. The BJP leadership framed the protest as an effort to defend Hindu pride and challenge statements they view as offensive.
