BJP Launches ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign in Bengaluru, Says ‘No Need to Learn Patriotism from Congress’

Bengaluru: The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in Bengaluru with a Tricolour march, calling upon citizens to honour freedom fighters and promote patriotism.

The march was organised from the government school premises near K.C. General Hospital. BJP Karnataka President B.Y. Vijayendra, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R. Ashoka, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy and several other party leaders participated.

Vijayendra said the campaign was being conducted across Karnataka and the country in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call.

Vijayendra Targets Congress

Vijayendra said the campaign aims to remind people of the sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle and encourage citizens to take pride in the nation.

“We do not need to learn patriotism from the Congress,” Vijayendra said, launching a sharp attack on the ruling party in Karnataka.

He alleged that the state government had protected those accused of raising “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.

Vijayendra also called upon people from all communities to work together to build a developed India by 2047.

“Hindus, Muslims and Christians should all come together like children of the same mother and cultivate a sense of patriotism to transform India into a developed nation by 2047,” he said.

R Ashoka Questions Congress’ Freedom Struggle Legacy

R. Ashoka also criticised the Congress, saying the party of the freedom struggle was different from the present-day organisation.

He said Congress leaders often accuse the BJP of not participating in the freedom movement, but those making such allegations today were also not part of the freedom struggle.

Ashoka recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s reported suggestion that the Congress should be dissolved after Independence and urged citizens to actively participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

“The Prime Minister has called upon citizens to participate actively and enthusiastically in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Let us all come together and make the campaign a success,” he said.

BJP Leaders Urge People to Hoist Tricolour

Chalavadi Narayanaswamy also launched a strong attack on the Congress while addressing the Tricolour march.

He accused the Congress of making controversial remarks about the freedom struggle and alleged that the party was controlled by a single family.

Narayanaswamy also criticised the Congress’ ‘Bharat Jodo’ campaign and questioned its objectives.

He urged citizens to remain patriotic and hoist the Tricolour at their homes as part of the campaign.

BJP Karnataka co-in-charge Sudhakar Reddy also praised Prime Minister Modi and said the abrogation of Article 370 had helped strengthen a sense of patriotism among citizens.

Several BJP leaders, legislators and MLCs participated in the march along with students, doctors, retired military personnel and prominent citizens from different sections of society.
