BJP’s Big Organisational Reshuffle Under Nitin Nabin: Smriti Irani, Vasundhara Raje, Ram Madhav Get Key Posts

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced a major reshuffle of its national organisation under party president Nitin Nabin, appointing several prominent leaders to key organisational positions with immediate effect.

The new team includes former Union Minister Smriti Irani among the national general secretaries, while former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and Ram Madhav have been appointed national vice presidents. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been named the BJP’s national treasurer.

Smriti Irani, Biplab Deb among national general secretaries

The BJP has appointed eight national general secretaries in its new organisational team. The list includes Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Smriti Irani, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia.

B.L. Santhosh will continue as National General Secretary (Organisation), while Shivprakash and Saudan Singh have been appointed National Joint General Secretaries (Organisation).

Smriti Irani’s appointment marks her return to a prominent organisational role in the BJP after serving as a Union Minister and Lok Sabha member.

Vasundhara Raje, Ram Madhav among national vice presidents

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia has been appointed a national vice president. Ram Madhav has also been named among the party’s national vice presidents.

The BJP has appointed 13 national vice presidents in all. The list also includes Tirath Singh Rawat, Baijayant Panda, D Purandeshwari, Rekha Verma, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, Bharti Pravin Pawar, Manpreet Singh Badal, Lal Singh Arya, M Nagaraja, Tariq Mansoor and Madhuchandra Kar.

Piyush Goyal named national treasurer

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed the BJP’s national treasurer, while Rajesh Mangal has been named national joint treasurer.

Tarun Chugh has been appointed Central Office In-charge and Mahendra Pandey Central Office Secretary.

The BJP has also announced 16 national secretaries, including K Surendran, Bhola Singh, Pradip Varma, Sandeep Pathak, Phangnon Konyak, Anil Antony, M Venkateshan, Manoj Tigga and Rohan Gupta.

New heads appointed for BJP Morchas

The party has also announced new presidents for its various organisational fronts.

Dr Hemang Joshi will head the Yuva Morcha, Roop Kumari Choudhary the Mahila Morcha, Amarpal Maurya the OBC Morcha, Bansilal Gurjar the Kisan Morcha, Shivesh Kumar Ram the SC Morcha, Mannalal Rawat the ST Morcha and Kunwar Basit Ali the Minority Morcha.

Anil Baluni has been appointed Media Convenor, while Deepak Mhaske will serve as Social Media Convenor. Several other leaders have also been given responsibilities in the party’s media and social media teams.

The appointments, announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, are effective immediately and mark a significant restructuring of the party’s national organisational team.
