BJP prominent leaders S Jaishankar, Bansuri Swaraj, Hardeep puri cast vote in Delhi

New Delhi: Voting is underway for all seven seats in the national capital under the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The aim of all political parties including BJP, Congress, is to maximise voter turnout before noon. The party is actively encouraging voters to reach polling booths through booth-level management by its workers.

During the early hours, prominent leaders and candidates cast their votes early in the morning to motivate both workers and voters. Among those who cast their votes early in the day include Union Ministers S. Jaishankar and Hardeep Singh Puri, BJP’s Delhi State President Virendra Sachdeva, former MP and former international cricketer Gautam Gambhir, and Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor.

Union Minister S Jaishankar after casting vote in Delhi said, “Cast my vote in New Delhi this morning. Urge all voting today to turnout in record numbers and vote in this sixth phase of the elections.”

Union Minister Hardeep Puri also casted his vote along with his wife. In a post on X he said, “From being born in the middle of India’s first general election held in 1951-52 to voting for the 18th Lok Sabha today, I have seen this festival of democracy evolve in strength & magnitude over the decades. Lakshmi & I voted at our booth in Mount Carmel School in Anand Niketan, New Delhi. The mood in Delhi, & indeed the entire country is euphoric & overwhelmingly in favour of India’s journey towards being #ViksitBharat under the visionary leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji.”

BJP candidate Bansuri Swaraj, contesting from New Delhi, voted after offering prayers at Jhandewala temple. She said in a post on X, “Today, I have fulfilled my duty towards the country by exercising my right to vote and now it is your turn. I humbly request all of you to go to your polling booth and vote and make this festival of democracy a success.”

while Harsh Malhotra, the candidate from East Delhi, cast his vote after visiting a temple. Praveen Khandelwal, BJP candidate from Chandni Chowk, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, candidate from South Delhi, and Yogendra Chandolia, candidate from North West Delhi, also exercised their voting rights.
