BLA Claims 40 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in 25 Attacks Across Balochistan

Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) have claimed to have killed 40 members of the Pakistani security forces and injured dozens in a spate of 25 attacks in various parts of Balochistan between October 26 to November 3. The attacks targeted Pakistani security forces, intelligence and ‘death squads’.

“During this period, we have conducted several successful ground and intelligence operations in which we have successfully destroyed and/or captured several military and logistic vehicles,” said Jeeyand Baloch, BLA Spokesman, in a statement released on Wednesday.

This comes after local reports such as The Balochistan Post highlighted the following claims.

BLA Claims Several Attacks Against Military Convoy

Two military vehicles were attacked by BLA fighters in Kharan district on November 3. The first attack occurred in the Zomi area in the morning when attackers killed at least three members of the military. Another military convoy was attacked in the Nauroz Qalat area later the same evening.

They also claimed to have attacked a military post in Rotinko using heavy weaponry.

On November 2 they claimed to have attacked in Ahmad Wal and Mastung. Three members of the security forces were killed and several injured in the Ahmad Wal attack where attackers targeted soldiers on foot and in vehicles.

Over four members of the security forces were killed and several injured after attackers targeted another military convoy in the Madina Hotel area on the main highway in Mastung.

Attacks in Washuk, Panjgur and Khuzdar

The BLA also claimed to have attacked in Washuk and Panjgur on October 28.

Four members of the security forces were killed and at least seven seriously injured when BLA fighters attacked a military convoy in the Sajid area in Washuk district.

Another military vehicle was attacked in the Gowargo area in Panjgur district on the same day killing one member of the security forces and injuring several.

Over nine members of the security forces were killed and several injured after BLA fighters attacked a Pakistani military convoy of over 30 vehicles in the Karkh area in Khuzdar on October 26.

The convoy contained military, police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) vehicles as well as vehicles belonging to Deputy Inspector General Imran Qureshi and the top superintendent of police in the district.

Military Posts and Supply Convoy Targeted

BLA also claimed to have attacked military posts and supply convoys in Nushki district.

BLA fighters attacked the main military post in the Ahmad Wal area on October 26 using heavy weaponry and caused severe damage.

Another military truck convoy was allegedly attacked in the same area on October 30. Two members of the security forces were killed and several injured. One truck was also destroyed.

    Military and Commercial Vehicles Seized

As well as attacks on members of the security forces, BLA claimed to have conducted several operations to disrupt the military supply lines and commercial activity throughout Balochistan.

On October 27 BLA fighters seized a military logistic vehicle in the Zarrin Jungle area in Nushki.

On October 30 another ration and supply truck was allegedly seized on the Dalbandin-Yakmach highway.

On October 31 BLA claimed to have seized two commercial vehicles in the Cheyahtar area on the Quetta-Taftan highway as part of an “economic blockade”.

One commercial vehicle was then torched on the same route on November 2.

BLA said that the 25 operations were part of an ongoing campaign against the Pakistani security forces. The number of injured and deaths have not been independently verified.
