Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for 28 operations across different parts of Balochistan between September 1 and 7, alleging that the attacks killed 52 Pakistani security personnel and injured several others.
In a statement, the BLA claimed its fighters also seized weapons and military equipment, took control of several checkpoints and vehicles belonging to Pakistani security forces, and damaged security infrastructure.
BLA Claims Attacks Across Balochistan
According to the BLA statement, its fighters killed Rehmat Saeed in Quetta’s Hazar Ganji area on September 7. The group described him as an alleged “agent” of Pakistan’s Military Intelligence (MI) and claimed its intelligence wing, ZIRAB, had been monitoring him.
The BLA also claimed that a security personnel was killed in a sniper attack at a Pakistani Army camp in Albat, Kharan, on the same day. It said the camp was subsequently targeted with mortar shells, causing casualties and damage.
On the Quetta-Karachi highway, the group claimed its fighters targeted vehicles associated with the Saindak project and a Pakistani Army convoy at Garari and Mahalbi in Kalat, causing what it described as heavy losses.
Explosions, Attacks on Army Facilities Claimed
The BLA further claimed that its fighters destroyed a rest house allegedly used by the Pakistani Army with explosives in the Kotro area of Jhal Magsi on September 6.
The group also said an airport site used by the Pakistani Army at Ghazaband, near Killa Abdullah, was attacked the same day. According to the claim, computers and other equipment were destroyed and the building was set on fire.
On September 3, the BLA’s Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS) allegedly carried out a remote-controlled blast targeting a Pakistani Army convoy. The group claimed an explosive-laden vehicle completely destroyed an army vehicle and killed seven personnel.
BLA Claims More Casualties in Mastung
A day earlier, the group claimed its fighters destroyed an armoured Pakistani Army vehicle in an IED blast at Garo in the Khadkoocha area of Mastung before attacking the convoy.
The BLA claimed four personnel were killed and more than seven injured in the ensuing clash.
In the Took region of Kalat, the group also claimed an armed attack on a Pakistani Army convoy, alleging “heavy human and material losses”.
The claims made by the BLA could not be independently verified. The group has previously vowed to continue its armed campaign against Pakistani forces until what it calls the “national liberation” of Balochistan is achieved.
