BMC Recommends Blacklisting Aditya Dhar’s Studio Over ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Violations

Mumbai: Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production house, B62 Studios, has been recommended for blacklisting by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s A-Ward office. This action was taken due to repeated violations of safety standards and civic regulations during the shooting of ‘Dhurandhar 2’.

According to sources, gas cylinders were used for cooking on the set, which is against the rules. Furthermore, the shooting location was changed without permission.

 Mumbai Police Action on Security Violations

According to sources, burning torches were used in a high-security zone during the shooting. Citing this as a serious security lapse, the Mumbai Police intervened and confiscated the equipment.

Furthermore, crew members used the building’s rooftop without permission, and two generator vans were operated without valid permits.

BMC Recommendation and Fine

The BMC has sent an official letter to the Deputy Metropolitan Commissioner (DMC) recommending a permanent ban on the studio. As part of this action, the production’s ₹25,000 security deposit was confiscated and an additional ₹1 lakh fine is proposed. The studio has not yet been officially blacklisted, but the proposal has been approved for further action.

Film and Release Information

“Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge” is scheduled to release on March 19th. The film stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal. It is the first part of a two-part film series about an Indian intelligence agent who infiltrates Pakistan’s underworld and political network.

The film’s story is inspired by several real-life South Asian events, such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and Pakistan’s Operation Lyari.

In “Dhurandhar 2,” Hamza Ali Mazhari, an Indian undercover agent, successfully infiltrates Pakistan’s underworld and faces his greatest enemy: Major Iqbal, an ISI mastermind.
