Boeing 747 cargo plane crashes at Hong Kong airport, two dead on ground

Hong Kong: A Boeing 747 freighter operated by AirACT overshot the runway and collided with a ground service vehicle while landing at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Two people on board the vehicle died in the accident.

The plane’s four crew members survived and have been admitted to hospital.

The accident occurred at 3:53 am local time. According to Flightradar24, the plane was landing on the airport’s north runway 07L, where it veered off the runway by about 5,000 feet to the left during landing.

The airport said that relief and rescue operations were immediately launched.
