Bolero falls into Ravi in Bharmour: Driver died, body retrieved after 5 hours

A Bolero vehicle (HP01/C 3737) fell into the Ravi River near Jura Mata temple on Chamba-Holi road in Himachal Pradesh at around 8:00 pm on Friday night. In this accident, the driver Sunil Kumar died on the spot. Sunil Kumar was a resident of Kuleth Gram Panchayat Kilod (Lilh).

According to the information, the Bolero vehicle that crashed was rented for a power project. At the time of the accident, the driver was returning to Jinyura after dropping the project employees. Suddenly, near Jinyura temple, the vehicle fell into the Ravi River after falling into a 200-meter-deep gorge.

Body retrieved after five hours of effort

As soon as the information about the accident was received, the police reached the spot and started searching for the missing driver. Local people, the fire brigade and police together recovered the body of driver Sunil Kumar from the Ravi River after about 5 hours of hard work. Due to the darkness, there was a lot of difficulty in finding the driver.

The body has been taken to the Civil Hospital Bharmour for postmortem. The body will be handed over to the family after the postmortem today.

SHO Bharmour Baburam said that the body has been taken out of the Ravi river with the joint efforts of local people, the fire brigade and the police. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
