Bollywood Actress Huma Qureshi’s Cousin Killed Over Parking Dispute in Delhi, Two Arrested

New Delhi: Asif Qureshi, 42, a cousin of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, was allegedly murdered on Thursday night in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area following a dispute over a parking space, reports indicate. The Delhi police have detained two individuals in connection with the incident.

According to police sources, around 10 pm on Thursday, Asif asked a man not to park a two-wheeler in front of his house’s main entrance. The disagreement quickly turned violent, and Asif was attacked with a sharp, poker-like weapon. He sustained severe chest injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he was declared dead there.

The accused have been identified as Ujjwal, 19, and Gautam, 18, who reportedly lived just a few meters from Asif’s residence, police said.

Asif was involved in the chicken business in Delhi and is survived by his two wives. His wife Shaheen recounted that they had asked a neighbor to move his scooter from in front of their house. She said her husband was verbally abused and threatened, and moments later, the neighbor and his brother attacked Asif with a weapon. Shaheen added that when her brother-in-law arrived, Asif had already lost a lot of blood and passed away.

Huma Qureshi’s uncle, Saleem Qureshi, confirmed that the altercation started over a parking issue that turned physical, leading to Asif’s death. Huma Qureshi has yet to release a statement regarding the incident.

The Delhi Police have registered a case under sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are further investigating. Asif’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
