    Bomb Scare at Shimla Court: Police Conduct Full Search Operation

    Chakkar: Security agencies were alarmed on Monday after receiving a bomb threat at the District and Sessions Court complex in Chakkar, Himachal Pradesh. The threat was sent via an official email address, prompting the police and administration to immediately launch a massive search.

     Threatening Email Received by Judge’s Office

    According to reports, the email was received by the office of the District and Sessions Judge (Civil and Sessions Division), Shimla. The email claimed a bomb had been planted in the court premises. Upon receiving the email, the court administration immediately informed the police, following which security was tightened.

    Joint Operation by Police and Dog Squad

    Upon receiving the information, a team from the Baluganj Police Station arrived at the scene. A dog squad was also called in for security purposes. Police thoroughly searched the court building, courtrooms, corridors, offices, and surrounding premises. During the search operation, every corner was thoroughly searched to completely rule out any potential threat.

    After a lengthy search, police found no bomb or suspicious object in the premises. Following this, officials described the situation as under control and normal.

    Court proceedings continue as normal

    After the security checks were completed and no threat was found, court proceedings continued as normal. Precautionary surveillance was increased in the premises with police presence.

    Case registered against unknown persons, cyber investigation initiated

    Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons under sections 353(1)(b), 351(3), 351(4), and 152 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Technical investigation has been initiated to identify the source and sender of the threatening email.

    Digital evidence is being examined, and a cyber team has also been involved in the case. Police officials say that such threats are taken seriously and the culprits will be identified and strict legal action will be taken against them.

    At present, the police are investigating the matter and efforts are underway to trace the source of the email.
