Bomb threat to Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow, Mumbai Police launch investigation

Mumbai: A bomb threat has been allegedly received at Bollywood veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan’s Mumbai bungalow. The Mumbai Police was informed of the matter on Friday. The threatening email reportedly was received by a school in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area.

The Mumbai Police have launched an investigation into the matter. However, it is not yet clear whether the threat specifically mentions Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow, Jalsa or Pratiksha. Further information is awaited.

Earlier, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) office also received a threatening email. A security check was conducted at the office, but no suspicious items or material was found. The BMC is the body responsible for managing municipal administration and essential civic services in Mumbai.

Mumbai Press Club also received a threat in March

Earlier, on March 20, the Mumbai Press Club also received a threatening email. According to an official, the email claimed that several small bombs containing poisonous gas had been planted inside the building, which would explode at 1 pm.

According to preliminary information, the email was allegedly sent by a person identifying herself as Neerja Ajmal Khan. The email claimed that 42 poisonous gas devices had been planted in the Press Club building.

    Claims Made About DMK Leaders

The threatening email also mentioned political developments related to Tamil Nadu’s ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). The sender claimed that Muslims in Coimbatore were being used as a vote bank and that some leaders supporting the DMK had been arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) as part of a crackdown on individuals associated with the same party.

The email also alleged that Tamil Nadu media outlets had denied their views and that they had faced disappointment in other states.

The email also claimed that the alleged devices were intended solely to cause property damage. It also appealed for the building to be evacuated.
