Bomb threat at Amit Shah’s Jalandhar rally, schools and temple also targeted

Jalandhar: Security agencies are on alert after receiving a bomb threat ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally in Jalandhar. An email sent to a school claims an IED has been placed under the rally stage.

According to police, the email was sent to Cambridge School at 7:07 am. The email also threatens to target some Jalandhar schools, the Shri Devi Talab Temple, and buses. Following the threat, police and security agencies have launched an investigation and increased security at the rally site and surrounding areas.

Amit Shah arrives at the Devi Talab Temple

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah has arrived in Jalandhar. He visited the Shri Devi Talab Temple and offered prayers.

After this, Shah will attend the concluding ceremony of the BJP’s “Drug Free Punjab Yatra” in Paragpur. He will also address a party rally at the same venue.

Along with investigating the threatening email, security agencies are monitoring security arrangements at the rally venue and all places associated with Shah’s programme.
