Bomb Threat Email Targets Ludhiana Mayor Office and Diljit Dosanjh; Khalistan Group Claims Responsibility

Ludhiana: A massive sensation swept through the city of Ludhiana when high-ranking officials of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation received a threatening email. The email contains a direct threat to blow up both the Ludhiana Mayor’s office and the residence of renowned Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh. This email was sent to the Municipal Commissioner and other official government email IDs on the morning of Monday, May 25.

What does the threatening email say?

Sent at approximately 7:28 AM, the email bears the subject line: “Bomb Blast – Mayor Office Ludhiana!” The email also specifies the scheduled times for the blasts. It threatens an attack on the Ludhiana Mayor at 1:11 PM. Additionally, it warns of an explosion at Diljit Dosanjh’s Ludhiana residence at 9:11 PM. The perpetrators have explicitly stated: “Anyone who helps Diljit Dosanjh will be killed.”

Reference to the 1984 Riots 

Citing the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the email invokes the principle of “blood for blood.” The individuals issuing the threat have written that targets will be struck through bomb blasts by June 6.

Who sent this threat?

At the conclusion of the email, it is claimed to have been sent on behalf of the ‘Khalistan National Army.’ Two names are listed as the senders:

1. Engineer Gurnakh Singh (Rukan Shahwala)
2. Dr. Gurnirvair Singh (Khan Rajada)

Police Department and Cyber ​​Cell on High Alert

Following the threat, the Police Department and the Cyber ​​Cell have been placed on full alert. An immediate investigation has been launched to trace the email’s IP address and identify the sender. Security around the Mayor’s office and other key locations is expected to be significantly tightened.
