Jaipur: Sri Ganganagar court premises were thrown into a tizzy on Wednesday after a bomb threat was received. According to officials, an anonymous letter sent via post from a fake Kolkata address warned of a bomb blast at the court.
Bomb disposal squad arrives at the scene, conducts intensive investigation
Upon receiving the information, a bomb disposal squad from Bikaner arrived at the court premises and security was immediately tightened. Police forces, including the Superintendent of Police (SP), also arrived at the scene.
The dog squad and bomb disposal squad conducted a thorough search of every corner of the court premises. Block C and D chambers, judicial officers’ offices, and the courtroom were all thoroughly checked.
Court proceedings resume after investigation
After a thorough investigation, the bomb disposal squad declared the premises safe, allowing court proceedings to resume.
Meanwhile, an investigation has been initiated with the help of the Cyber Cell and the Postal Department to identify the sender of the threatening letter.
Threats have been received before
According to officials, on March 10, the passport office in Sri Ganganagar also received a bomb threat. At that time, the bomb disposal squad conducted a search, but no suspicious object was found.
Currently, security agencies are on high alert in the entire area and are monitoring every activity.
