Bomb Threat at 3 Ludhiana Schools, Police Launch Search Operations

Ludhiana: On Thursday, three schools in Ludhiana received threats to blow them up. These schools include Spring Dale Senior Secondary School (Sherpur), DAV School (BRS Nagar), and Manav Rachna International School. A local councilor stated that, in addition to the schools, threats were also received regarding blowing up railway tracks.

Following the receipt of these threats, a holiday was declared at all three schools. Parents rushed to the schools to pick up their children. Meanwhile, police and bomb squad teams arrived at the scene and commenced search operations.

Principal Anil Sharma noted that this is the first time the school has received such a threat, creating an atmosphere of fear among both the staff and the parents. The school management has handed over the email ID associated with the threatening message to the police.

What the Email Said…

Sent at 9:14 AM on Thursday morning under the name “Khalistan National Army,” the email advocated for the establishment of Punjab as “Khalistan” and claimed that explosions would occur in the schools at 1:11 PM. Furthermore, designating April 24th as “Blackout Day,” the email appealed to parents not to send their children to school on that day. The email also issued a warning that on this “Blackout Day,” railway tracks in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bathinda, and Ferozepur would be blown up using IEDs at 8:11 PM. People have been advised to avoid rail travel on that day.
