Bomb Threat to blow up 10 schools in Mohali, schools evacuated

Around 10 schools in Mohali have received a bomb threat. The threat was sent through email. On receiving the information, the concerned school management was alerted, and all the schools have been declared a holiday as a precaution. Many children were sent back home from the gate as soon as they reached the school in the morning.

Police and security agencies were alerted upon receiving the threat. Police reached the spot and started investigation and security was increased in the school complex. DEO City Harsimran Bal personally visited Learning Path School, while DSP City One Prithvi Chahal reached Paragon School. Police have sealed all the schools and are conducting an internal investigation. No one is being allowed to go beyond the gate.

Holiday announced in these schools

DEO Ginni Duggal said that 10 schools have received threats. These include Paragon, Learning Path, Minddream, GD Goenka, Vivek School, Indus and others. The schools that received the threats were closed. Meanwhile, government schools were asked to check their emails. Information regarding this matter was also sent to the Deputy Commissioner of Police. The schools received the emails as soon as they opened in the morning. After this, the police teams were alerted and the schools were closed.

30 schools in Chandigarh received threats

Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab on January 28, 30 schools in Chandigarh also received bomb threats. After this, the police and intelligence agencies were put on high alert. When the police and bomb squad teams sealed the areas around the schools and searched them, no suspicious object was found in any of the schools.
