Jalandhar: Bomb threats for Police DAV, APJ School; security alert triggered

Two schools in Jalandhar have received bomb threat emails. The Police DAV and Rama Mandi APJ School branches, located in the city center and the Punjab Armed Police campus, received the threatening emails. Following information from the schools, police forces arrived with sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads.

The police have not yet found anything resembling a bomb. Schools have received similar threats several times before. To avoid panic, schools have not yet declared a holiday. Police say an investigation is underway. Technical teams have been deployed to trace the origin of the threatening email.

Threats were also received before the PM’s visit on February 1st

On February 1st, a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Punjab, six schools in Jalandhar received bomb threat emails. Upon receiving the information, police and security agencies swung into action and launched a search operation. Police stated that a threatening email had been sent to the school. However, nothing was found during the investigation.

Schools were closed due to the procession on the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji. An email sent to a school stated that there would be a bomb blast due to Modi’s visit.

The email was sent in the name of ‘Billi Hall’. Inside it was written that there would be a bomb blast in 3-4 schools. We respect Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. Who is responsible for Nijjar’s death…revenge…revenge…revenge. Dera Ballan is the target. Earlier also, on December 25, schools in Jalandhar had received threats of bomb blasts.
