BR Ambedkar Death Anniversary: CM Mann pays tributes to Baba Saheb

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid tributes to Baba Sahib Bhimrao Ambedkar on his death anniversary. CM Mann took to X and paid tributes. In a post, he said, “The creator of the constitution..Baba Sahib Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar ji…who gave voice to the backward and downtrodden sections…introduced the rights in the fabric of the society… Today, on the occasion of Babasaheb Ji’s death anniversary, I pay my respects to the great soul…”

BR Ambedkar played a pivotal role in drafting the Constitution as the chairman of the drafting committee and also served as the Law and Justice Minister in Jawaharlal Nehru’s initial cabinet.

Ambedkar, hailing from a Dalit background, ascended to a prominent position in Indian politics. He championed for the rights of the underprivileged. Since his passing in 1956, appreciation for his ideas has expanded.
