Breaking: AAP MP Sanjay Singh gets bail, ED says ‘No Objection’

New Delhi: After a long period of 7 months, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh get bail. Today, the Supreme Court granted bail to Sanjay Singh.

On the bail given by SC, the probe agency has said that it has ‘no objection to bail given’.

Sanjay Singh was arrested on October 4, 2023, by the Enforcement Directorate in the alleged money laundering case related to the now scrapped Delhi liquor policy.

The bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna, Dipankar Datta and PB Varale clarified that Singh would be entitled to indulge in political activities during the period of bail. The bench also stated that the order will not be treated as a precedent.

No trace, nothing has been recovered

The Bench sought the ED’s stand after hearing arguments led by Sr Adv Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi on behalf of Singh and noting that there were exculpatory statements by approver Dinesh Arora and no money had been recovered.

“Nothing has been recovered, there is no trace,” the bench observed during the hearing.

ED has conceded before the court

Rishikesh Kumar, Advocate of Sanjay Singh said, “Sanjay Singh has been granted bail. The most astonishing factor is that Sanjay Singh has been granted bail because ED did not argue their case at all and conceded on the bail because it was all apparent during the hearing and it was made clear by the judges before lunch that against Sanjay Singh, there is no credible material, to make a case against him.
