Brutality in Moga: Innocent murdered and hanged from a tree, 5-year-old sister ran 3 km to report the incident

Moga: Two cousin sisters (8 and 5 years old) who had gone to a fair in Lohara village, Moga, were lured by the accused, Manpreet Singh alias Rinku, with the promise of a dholak. He took them on his bicycle to a deserted, abandoned brick kiln. There, he began to molest the 8-year-old girl. When the girl screamed for help and tried to run away, the accused became violent.

Cruelty Exceeds Limits: Murderer Laughs While Murdering
When the girl refused to stop, the accused strangled her with a cloth tied around his head. He then hung the innocent girl from a tree branch. The 5-year-old sister, an eyewitness to the incident, said that while her elder sister was writhing in pain, the accused laughed loudly at her. The rapist also tried to grab the little girl, but she somehow managed to escape.

The 5-year-old girl, fleeing for her life, ran about 3 kilometers on foot to her parents and told them everything. By the time the distraught family arrived at the scene and brought the girl down from the tree, she had already died. The accused had fled.

Identification from CCTV and Police Action
Police examined CCTV footage from the fair site, which led to the identification of the accused, Manpreet. The police acted swiftly and arrested the accused. He has been charged under serious sections including murder (BNS 103), kidnapping, and the POCSO Act.

Demand for Justice
The victim’s family is in shock. The deceased girl’s uncle and father have demanded the death penalty for the accused. According to legal experts, these sections could result in the death penalty or life imprisonment.
