BSF Headquarters blast investigation: 3 youths from Nawanshahr questioned

Nawanshahr : Police have detained three youths from Nawanshahr in connection with the IED blast outside the BSF headquarters in Jalandhar. According to villagers, Jalandhar police arrived in the village on May 9 and took the three for questioning. The police only stated that they had uncovered links to the blast.

One youth had married a month ago

The village sarpanch stated that Lovepreet, who was detained, comes from a very poor family and had married just a month ago. He worked at a petrol pump in Sundh. Due to the family’s poor financial condition, an NRI from the village had built his house. After his arrest, the house has been locked and his wife has gone to her parents’ home.

The second youth is the only son and worked at a petrol pump.

The second youth, Davinder, is said to be the only son of his family. According to the village sarpanch, the family is very poor and Davinder also worked at a petrol pump. No previous complaints have been filed against him in the village. The police are currently investigating his connections.

The third youth has previously been jailed.

Regarding the third youth, Lakhwinder alias Ghula, his family reported that the police called him for questioning. The family later handed him over to the police. Lakhwinder had previously served 3-4 months in jail for a fight. The family says that he is poorly educated and associated with bad company. Currently, the police are taking him to Mohali for questioning.
