Two BSF Officers Injured in Samba Raid Attack

Jammu: Two Border Security Force (BSF) officers were injured on Monday during a raid at a suspected drug hotspot in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in Gujjar Basti village of the Supwal area when locals allegedly attacked the officers.

The injured personnel have been identified as Inspector Imtiyaz and Sub-Inspector Devender Kumar. Reports said both officers were not in uniform at the time of the incident.

Police Launch Investigation
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the attack. Further details are awaited as authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Both injured officers have been shifted to AIIMS Jammu for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.

Security Challenges Along Border Areas
The Samba district lies along the 240-km-long international border in Jammu division, which is guarded by the BSF. The force is tasked with preventing infiltration, drug smuggling, and cross-border activities, including drone-based deliveries of arms and narcotics.

Security forces have installed advanced anti-drone systems along the border, which have helped reduce such activities. In addition to border security, operations against terrorism, drug smuggling, and hawala networks are carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies across the region.
