Abu Dhabi: Burjeel Holdings has unveiled one of the largest Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platforms in the region. The Oracle Health EMR platform aims to revolutionize patient care, enhance clinical outcomes, and boost operational efficiencies across Burjeel’s network.
This initiative marks a significant advancement in the adoption of AI and the use of data to provide evidence-based care, solidifying Burjeel’s leadership in cutting-edge healthcare innovation. The launch of this platform signifies the most extensive technological upgrade in Burjeel’s history, underscoring the Group’s commitment to integrating advanced digital solutions to create a connected, patient-centered healthcare environment.
Burjeel is among the first healthcare providers in the region to implement Oracle Health’s EMR solution on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) within the Oracle Cloud Dubai Region. This positions Burjeel to enhance its value-creation strategy by leveraging technology for operational excellence.
The platform was introduced at an event at Burjeel Medical City (BMC), attended by key figures including Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings; John Sunil, Group CEO; Alaa Adel, Senior Vice President and Managing Director – International of Oracle Health; and Akram Sami Dhaini, Vice President and Managing Director, along with other senior officials.
The rollout of the EMR system has commenced at Burjeel facilities, including BMC, Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi, and Burjeel Day Surgery Centre on Al Reem Island. These initial implementations will facilitate a structured rollout throughout Burjeel’s extensive healthcare network.
The platform enhances access to comprehensive patient data, allowing caregivers to make informed, real-time decisions. It streamlines workflows, boosts patient safety through integrated alerts and protocols, and provides actionable insights via data analytics. This leads to improved clinical outcomes, quicker access to critical information, reduced patient waiting times, and increased clinician-patient engagement.
Over 3,700 employees across Burjeel’s hospitals underwent extensive training, supported by super-users, lead super-users, and more than 60 Oracle experts. Built on Oracle’s robust cloud infrastructure, the platform promotes interoperability within Burjeel’s clinical ecosystem, enabling real-time coordination and information sharing among providers, patients, and facilities—essential for advanced care delivery models.
