Adani Company Share Price: Impact of US Charges, shares of most Adani Group companies fell as soon as the market opened

Shares of the group's flagship company Adani Enterprises tumbled 6.98 percent to a 52-week low of Rs 2,030.

Mumbai: Shares of eight of the 10 listed Adani Group companies fell during morning trade on Friday. Billionaire Gautam Adani has been accused by US prosecutors of being part of a scheme to pay $265 million (roughly Rs. 2,200 crores) in bribes to Indian officials in exchange for favorable terms for solar power contracts.

Adani Green Energy fell 10.95 percent and Adani Energy Solutions tumbled 8.57 percent to a 52-week low of Rs 637.85 on the BSE. Shares of the group’s flagship company Adani Enterprises tumbled 6.98 percent to a 52-week low of Rs 2,030.

Shares of Adani Power fell 6.38 percent, Adani Total Gas fell 6.11 percent, and Adani Ports fell 5.31 percent. Adani Wilmar shares fell 5.17 percent to a one-year low of Rs 279.20 and NDTV fell 3.41 percent.

In contrast, ACC and Ambuja Cements were trading with more than two percent gains even after falling in early deals. In the stock market, the BSE Sensex was trading 781.02 points higher at 77,936.81 and the NSE Nifty was up 228.90 points at 23,578.80. Shares of Adani Group companies fell sharply on Thursday.

The Adani Group on Thursday denied allegations of paying bribes to secure favorable terms for solar power contracts, saying the allegations leveled by US prosecutors are baseless and the group complies with all laws. The group said all possible legal remedies would be explored.
