C Vigil : ‘Citizens be vigilant’ application launch by Election Commissioner

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar says, “Election Commission is going to launch an application called ‘C-Vigil: Citizens be Vigilant’. If any preparations for any election-related irregularity or violence are being made. Users will be able to report through the app and action will be taken within 100 minutes.

If any candidate has a criminal background, this application can be used to identify those candidates and criminal charges against them.

Furthermore, the candidates have to publish three newspaper advertisements telling about the criminal charges against him/her. Political parties will also have to publish the same on their websites and via newspaper advertisement.”

And the citizens can openly see their candidate’s background, their affidavits or can check any criminal offence have been imposed on him or her.
