In protest against the raid on the office of senior Ludhiana-based Chartered Accountant Ashwani Kumar at Ashwani & Associates in Tagore Nagar, the Ludhiana CA Association, along with various professional organizations, will gather at the Ludhiana DC office today to submit a memorandum to the Honorable President of India.

What was the case?

Late in the evening on January 9, the SIT suddenly raided the office of renowned CA Ashwani Kumar in the upscale Tagore Nagar area of ​​Ludhiana. The SIT team arrived with Satwinder Singh Kohli, the CA of the already arrested Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Badal. As soon as the search began, lawyers and police officers arrived at the office, and a heated argument ensued regarding the search warrant and its validity.

The atmosphere became tense when the police failed to produce clear documentation, and shortly afterward, protesters blocked the road while chanting slogans against the government and the police. The police seized laptops, a DVR, and documents.
