Canada police nab 22-year-old Punjabi youth in organised crime probe

Amritsar: Police in British Columbia, Canada, have taken major action against a gang extorting money from local businessmen. The Abbotsford Police Extortion Task Force arrested 22-year-old Punjabi youth Gursevak Singh and filed several serious charges against him. The court will pronounce the sentence on May 22.

12 cases registered, including shooting and arson

According to police, Gursevak Singh has been charged with approximately 12 criminal offenses, including shooting, arson, and intimidation. Police have described him as a threat to public safety. Given the seriousness of the case, a photo of the accused has also been released.

Firing at a Business Establishment

On the night of December 17, a shooting was reported at a business establishment on King Road in Abbotsford. Police arrived at the scene and confirmed the shooting, although no one was injured.

Surrendered after a highway blockade

Following the incident, police identified a suspicious car and established a blockade on Highway 1. The Gang Crime Unit surrounded the car, after which Gursevak Singh surrendered to the police without resistance.
