Car falls into 200-meter-deep gorge in Kullu, four youths dead; one seriously injured

Kullu: A tragic road accident occurred in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district early Tuesday morning. A car lost control and fell into a 200-meter-deep gorge on NH-305 near Haripur in the Ani subdivision. Four youths died on the spot, while one was seriously injured.

Five friends were returning from a wedding ceremony

According to reports, the five people in the car were returning after attending a wedding ceremony. Around 3 a.m. Monday night, near Haripur between Nigan and Nimla, the car suddenly lost control and fell off the road into a deep gorge. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Rescue operation lasted several hours

As soon as the accident was reported, local people, police, administration, and fire brigade teams rushed to the scene. The 200-meter-deep ravine posed significant challenges in the rescue and relief operations. The rescue operation continued until around 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Four youths from the same village died

According to reports, Rahul Rana, Bal Krishna, Vikas alias Vicky, and Gunjan died in the accident. All four are residents of Jabo village in the Ani area. The injured, Suresh Kumar, was rushed to the hospital and is undergoing treatment. News of the accident has cast a pall of gloom over Jabo village.

Police have launched an investigation into the accident and are trying to determine the exact cause of the accident.
