High-Speed Crash Near Subhash Chowk: Car Flips Over Metro Barriers

GURUGRAM — A late-night commute turned into a harrowing rescue operation near Subhash Chowk after a speeding car lost control, rammed into newly installed metro construction barricades, and overturned. The driver, who was momentarily trapped inside the mangled remains of the vehicle, was successfully rescued by local police and passersby.

The incident occurred during the early hours of Tuesday when a white sedan, reportedly traveling at high speed from the direction of Sohna Road, approached the Subhash Chowk intersection. According to eyewitnesses, the driver appeared to lose control while navigating the stretch where the road narrows due to ongoing Gurugram Metro construction. The vehicle struck the heavy jersey barriers with such force that it flipped over, sliding several meters before coming to a halt on its roof.

Dramatic Rescue Operation

Local residents and a patrolling police team from the Sadar Police Station rushed to the spot immediately. The car’s doors were jammed due to the impact, leaving the driver stranded inside the cabin. Rescuers had to use metal rods and sheer force to pry open the driver-side door.

“The driver was conscious but in a state of deep shock. We managed to pull him out just as smoke began to billow from the engine,” said a local bystander who assisted in the rescue. The driver was rushed to a nearby private hospital; while he sustained multiple abrasions and a suspected fracture, doctors have declared him out of danger.
