Car rams into truck on Delhi-Jalandhar Highway; 2 killed on spot

Two cars collided on the Delhi National Highway in Jalandhar, Punjab, and caught fire. Two people died on the spot, and three others were seriously injured. The accident occurred on Sunday-Monday night. Police arrived on the information of passersby and admitted the injured to the Phagwara Civil Hospital.

Police said that a car collided with a truck loaded with vehicles. In the dark, the vehicles collided one after the other. Both vehicles were completely in the accident. Fire engines arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control.

The accident occurred at around 1 am late at night near Chaheru Bridge on the Delhi-Jalandhar National Highway. Station House Officer Inshat Sharma said that a truck loaded with vehicles was traveling on the highway.

According to eyewitnesses, one car caught fire first. The second car and truck coming from behind also caught fire. An auto rickshaw coming from behind also collided with the same car. The Activa and the bike rider were also injured in the accident.

SSF police personnel said that Phagwara Fire Brigade vehicles were called to the spot and brought the fire under control.
