Car runs over 4-year-old girl in Amritsar, died

Last night in Amritsar, an unknown car hit a four-year-old girl near Jandiala Guru Highway Road, Tarn Taran Bypass, due to which the girl died. The accident happened at around 5:30 pm due to a speeding car running over child.

The mother of the deceased girl, Priya, and her father said that they were begging on the highway. Suddenly, a speeding car came and hit their innocent girl and dragged her for about 10-20 feet. The girl died a painful death as the tire of the car passed over her.

The girl’s head was badly crushed. After the incident, the driver fled with the car. After this the girl’s mother took her to the hospital on a rickshaw, where the doctors declared her dead.

The police are checking CCTV

People present nearby immediately informed the police. Major Singh, investigating officer of Police Station Jandiala Guru, said that the accused will be identified by checking the CCTV footage, and legal action will be taken against him.

The deceased girl has two more siblings. Her father works as a labourer to support the family. Locals have demanded that the administration catch the culprit and provide help to the victim’s family. The police have sent the body for postmortem and investigation is underway.
