Mumbai: Actor Anshuman Jha, who stars alongside Sarah Hopkins in the upcoming film “Welcome To Agra,” expressed his excitement about working in the romance genre, which has long been on his wishlist. He mentioned that after completing his role in the action film “Lakadbaggha 2,” he was eager to explore a love story.
Anshuman, who hails from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, noted that “Welcome To Agra” allows him to fulfill his desire to be part of a Hindi love story set in northern India. He reflected on his debut film “LSD,” which was a pure love story, and shared his enthusiasm for returning to that genre.
“Welcome To Agra,” directed by Ashish Dubey, is described as a classic love story set in the year 2000, featuring a romance between a cycle rickshaw driver and a British tourist. Anshuman is preparing for the film over the next two months and is particularly excited about shooting in Agra, especially since he has never visited the Taj Mahal.
Known for his roles in films like “Love Sex Aur Dhokha,” “Yeh Hai Bakrapur,” and “No Fathers In Kashmir,” Anshuman gained significant attention for his lead role in the web series “Mastram,” which has garnered over a billion views. His recent work in the action-thriller “Lakadbaggha” earned him critical acclaim, including a Best Actor Award at the South Asian International Film Festival. He also ventured into production with “Mona Darling” and performed in the musical “Jhumroo” at Kingdom of Dreams from 2016 to 2017.
