New Delhi: The Directorate of Enforcement has launched an extensive raid across five major states and UTs including Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bengaluru, targeting illegal ticket sales for two of the year’s most anticipated concerts Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ and Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Dilluminati’ tour.
The ED has confirmed about his raid on social media platform X and as well as confirmed that several incriminating materials such as Mobile phones, laptops, sim cards used in the scam were recovered and seized.
These concerts including Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ and Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Dilluminati’ tour had generated massive excitement, with tickets selling out quickly on platforms like Bookmyshow and Zomato Live. However, this high demand also fueled a black market, with tickets being sold at exorbitant prices. numerous reports were emerging of individuals being deceived or cheated through fraudulent ticket sales.
Bookmyshow also filed an FIR against those suspected of manipulating ticket prices and selling fakes. After multiple FIRs were registered in various states regarding fraudulent ticket sales, the ED acted swiftly, conducting searches at more than 13 locations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The ED has confirmed the seizing of incriminating materials like mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards which were used in the scam. ED officials said that investigations continue, with the ED intensifying its efforts to root out fraud in the entertainment industry. ED officials said that ED, New Delhi has conducted search operations on 25 October in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bangalore about the illegal sale of tickets of Coldplay and Diljeet Dosanjh’s Dilluminati concerts.
During the search operations, several incriminating materials such as Mobile phones, laptops, sim cards etc. used in the scam were recovered and seized.
