Jalandhar: Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh recently revealed the family status that he had kept private for years. During his Dil-Luminati show in Manchester, his mother and sister attended the concert, marking a rare public appearance for them.
In emotional moments captured on video, Diljit sang and expressed his love for his mother and introduced her to the audience as Sukhwinder Kaur. He also expressed his affection for his sister and shared his happiness at having his family present at the show.
Diljit revealed in a podcast that his parents sent him to the city without consulting him. He mentioned that he used to live alone in a small room without a TV or a mobile phone. He had a lot of free time and would only go to school and then return home.
He also shared that communication with his family was limited as making or receiving calls required spending money. This led to him growing distant from his family.
Diljit expressed deep respect for his mother and described his father as a very affectionate person. He noted that his father did not inquire about his school or ask him anything, which eventually caused him to lose touch with his father and others.
