The central government has provided CRPF security to Rajya Sabha MP and former cricketer Harbhajan Singh. This decision came after the Punjab government withdrew his security. Nine to ten Punjab Police personnel deployed at his Jalandhar residence were removed on Saturday.
Controversy escalates after leaving AAP and joining BJP
Harbhajan Singh is among seven Rajya Sabha MPs who have left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined the BJP. Along with Raghav Chadha, Harbhajan Singh, Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal, Rajinder Gupta, Swati Maliwal, and Vikramjeet Sahni announced their separation from the party.
‘Traitor’ written outside the house
On Saturday, AAP workers protested outside Harbhajan Singh’s Jalandhar home. “Traitor” was written on the wall of his house. Similar protests were held outside the homes of Ashok Mittal and Rajinder Gupta.
Bhagwant Mann said, “These are traitors of Punjab.”
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called these leaders “traitors” after they left the party. Meanwhile, Raghav Chadha said that AAP had deviated from its principles and values, so they decided to join the BJP.
