Centre allocates Rs 4500 Crore, 1500 Km road network to be built: Himachal Minister Vikramaditya

Himachal Pradesh’s Urban Development and Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh has claimed substantial financial support from the central government. Addressing a public meeting in the Pahal area of ​​Shimla Rural on Sunday, the minister stated that in the last two and a half years, the central government has received financial assistance of ₹4,500 crore. This assistance has been provided to two departments: the Public Works Department and the Urban Development Department.

He stated that the central government has provided all possible assistance. The minister stated that in November, approval will be received for laying a 1,500-kilometer road network in the state.

This will result in the construction of hundreds of roads in rural areas, benefiting millions of people. The minister also stated that the CBSE board is being implemented in 100 schools in the state. The future of these schools is being determined based on the number of students enrolled.

Road tarring in Himachal will be inspected. Following the incident of tarring coming off in Theog, the government has ordered an inspection of tarring in other districts as well. The Public Works Department’s Quality Control Wing will investigate the investigation and submit a report to the government.

Action will be taken against contractors who do shoddy construction, and the accountability of the engineer posted on the spot will also be ensured. Many roads were destroyed due to natural calamities in Himachal this monsoon season.

The disaster has wreaked havoc in Mandi, Chamba, Shimla, Kangra, Una, Sirmaur, and Kullu districts. Many roads became unfit for driving. Many bridges were broken. In such a situation, the government has allotted the work of tarring, along with repairing these roads to the contractors.
