Chandigarh Administration Bans Sale & Use of Non-Green Firecrackers

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Administration has issued strict orders permitting only the sale and use of “Green Firecrackers” during upcoming festivals such as Dussehra, Diwali, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. The use or sale of any non-green or conventional firecrackers has been completely banned across the city.

Authorities have directed that only licensed traders authorized by the Department of Environment and Forests will be allowed to sell certified green crackers. The administration has also warned of strict legal action, including cancellation of licenses and fines, against violators.

The move aims to control rising pollution levels and ensure a safer festive season for residents.
