Lawrence Bishnoi’s close aide gangster Perry shot dead in Chandigarh

35-year-old gangster Inderpreet Singh, popularly known as Perry and a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was shot dead in Sector 26, Chandigarh on Monday night. The incident took place around 8 pm when three assailants chased him in a Kia car, stopped him, fired shots and fled the scene.

Perry’s life and recent marriage

Perry lived in Sector 33 and had married just two weeks ago. He was found with multiple bullet wounds inside his SUV. Police officials said initial investigations revealed that eight to nine shots were fired, although the number could be higher.

Gang enmity suspected

Investigators believe the murder is gang-related, possibly linked to the recent killing of Bishnoi’s close aide Zora Sidhu alias Sippy in Dubai. A massive search operation has been launched in Chandigarh, and checkpoints have been set up at the borders. CCTV footage is being used to try to track down the attackers and understand Parry’s last movements.

A social media post claiming responsibility

Shortly after the murder, a post from a handle called ‘Hari Boxer Arzu Bishnoi’ appeared on social media, claiming responsibility in the names of Arzu Bishnoi, Hari Boxer, Shubham Lonkar and Harman Sandhu. The post described Parry as the avenger of Sippy’s murder and warned of violence against anyone who supported his opponents.

Police say: Lawrence Bishnoi gang style

Senior police officials believe that the attack reflects the style of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Efforts are on to trace the social media accounts that claimed responsibility. The attack is believed to be the first major gangster killing in Chandigarh since the murder of Goldie Brar’s cousin Gurlal Brar in 2020.

Perry and Lawrence Bishnoi have been in a long-standing relationship.

Perry and Lawrence Bishnoi were college friends and studied at DAV College in Sector 10. They were active members of SOPU. This relationship, rooted in student politics, gradually led to their involvement in organised crime. Perry has several serious cases registered against him from 2011 to 2023, including assault with a weapon, murder and other crimes.

Murder case

On Monday night, a PCR call was received about Perry’s SUV near Timber Market in Sector 26. Police immediately reached the spot and tried to take him to the hospital, but he was declared brought dead. Police believe the murder is another violent chapter in a long-running gang war.
