Chandigarh Girl stabbed in Sector-36 park, accused absconding

23-year-old Suhani was stabbed to death at around 8:30 pm on Sunday night in a park in Sector-36, Chandigarh. According to information, the accused youth Vinay stabbed Suhani in the neck and fled from the spot after the incident.

According to family members, Suhani was in a relationship with Rahul, a resident of Sector-56. She had gone out for some work and after some time she called her mother and said in a trembling voice that mother, Vinay has stabbed me, save me. After this, the family immediately ran towards the park.

People present at the spot saw Suhani in an injured condition and informed the police. The family alleges that the police were present at the spot, but she was not immediately taken to the hospital. As the ambulance could not reach inside the park, the father himself picked up his daughter and took her out. She was taken to the hospital in Sector-16, where the doctors declared her dead.

The police have registered a case of murder against the accused Vinay, and the search for him is on. It is being told that Vinay is a resident of Madhubani, Bihar and used to work at a sweet shop in Sector-35. He had known Suhani for about a year and used to harass her. The family alleges that he used to do drugs and was constantly harassing Suhani.

Suhani aspiring for UPSC exam 

Suhani was a third-year BA student from Panjab University and was preparing for the UPSC exam. She also worked in a clinic in Sector-22. The family is building a new house in Jhampur and preparations for the wedding were going on in June. The police are investigating the case, and teams have been dispatched to arrest the accused.
