Chandigarh Rose Festival: Police releases traffic advisory for 3 days

Chandigarh Police has issued a traffic and parking advisory for the three-day Rose Festival starting from Friday in Chandigarh. In view of the possibility of a large number of people arriving during the festival, complete traffic arrangements have been made.

Hundreds of different types of flowers will be exhibited during this festival to be held at the Rose Garden in Sector-16. Like every year, a huge crowd is expected this time too, due to which special security and traffic arrangements have been made by the police.

Parking arrangements at the following places

1. Parking behind Chandigarh Police Headquarters
2. Parking behind Chandigarh Housing Board and UT Secretariat, Sector-9
3. Parking from behind Punjab Police Headquarters to Central House, Sector-9
4. Backside parking of Sector-16 Rose Garden
5. Opposite Hotel Taj, Sector-17
6. Opposite TDI Mall, Sector-17
7. Multi-level parking and Neelam parking, Sector-17
8. Parking in front of SCOs on Sector-9 Madhya Marg
9. Various designated parking spaces in Sector-17
10. Parking in front of MC Office, Sector-17
11. Near Ras Frontier, Sector-17
12. Parking adjacent to Neelam Theatre, Sector-17

Police appeal to the general public

1. Park vehicles only at designated parking spaces.
2. Do not park vehicles on internal roads, cycle tracks, footpaths and no-parking zones of Sector-16.
3. Violation of the rules will result in the vehicle being towed and legal action will be taken.
If the vehicle is towed or clamped, contact the traffic helpline number 1073.
Be patient during traffic jams and do not honk unnecessarily.
In view of the heavy crowd, it has been appealed to use car pooling or public transport.
