Audience enraged over sound system playing instead of singing
According to reports, Daler Mehndi arrived at the event on Sunday evening. It is alleged that upon arriving on stage, he had his songs played through the sound system instead of singing on the microphone.
This angered the audience, who began to riot. People shouted that they had invited Daler Mehndi, not his team. They accused the singer of fooling them and failing to sing properly.
Some even alleged that Daler Mehndi was singing only one line and then leaving. This escalated the audience’s anger, and the event became chaotic.
Minister Subodh Uniyal reprimanded the audience
Cabinet Minister and local MLA Subodh Uniyal rose from his chair and came to the stage to calm the situation. He first appealed to the audience for calm and then expressed his displeasure with Daler Mehndi’s singing style.
The minister told the singer that he had been invited at such a high cost to entertain the locals. He alleged that the singer was using a sound mixer to create sounds and fool the audience.
Subodh Uniyal said that Daler Mehndi was a big name and that was why he had been invited to the event. Therefore, he should treat the audience with respect.
The minister also said that if the singers are unable to speak properly, how can they sing? The audience booed during his comment.
Daler Mehndi clarified, continued performance
During the altercation, Daler Mehndi told the minister that he had given him a lot of respect and was grateful for it. He said that this behavior was inappropriate.
Subodh Uniyal then left the stage, and Daler Mehndi continued his performance.
Following the viral video on social media, there has been discussion about the singer’s behavior. However, claims of him being drunk have not been confirmed, so these should be viewed as mere allegations.
