Chargesheet filed in Narnaul court against Congress state president Rao Narendra

The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Gurugram, has filed a charge sheet in the Narnaul court on corruption charges against Haryana Congress President Rao Narendra Singh.

The team filed the charge sheet in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Harshali Chaudhary. The case dates back to 2014, when Rao was the Health Minister in the Congress government. At that time, it was alleged that a demand of ₹30 to ₹50 crore (approximately $300 million) was made for CLU (Change of Land Use) approval for 30 acres of land in the Palwal area. A sting operation documenting the demand was conducted by a person named Dharmendra, and a CD of the same later became part of the investigation.

A complaint was filed with the Lokayukta, Haryana. Based on the Lokayukta’s report, the then Chief Secretary of the state referred the case to the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Subsequently, on January 29, 2016, an FIR was registered at the ACB Gurugram police station under sections 7 and 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. After the investigation was completed, the ACB filed a charge sheet in court on October 23, 2025.

It should be noted that Rao Narendra Singh was recently appointed the state president of the Congress party. Now, discussions have begun in both district and state politics.
